Knowlton Nash became familiar to Canadian viewers as the anchor of CBC Television's "The National". Nash began his journalistic career while a teenager. He joined the British United Press Service in 1947, and moved to Washington, D.C. in 1951 as director of information for the International Federation of Agricultural Producers. Nash worked as a freelance writer and broadcaster in Washington from 1958 to 1969, filing stories for the CBC and several Canadian newspapers. He returned to Canada in 1969 as director of television information programs for the CBC.
In 1978, Nash was appointed anchor and chief correspondent for "The National". In 1987, he chose to move to weekend programming in order to allow Peter Mansbridge to assume the anchor role. Knowlton Nash continues to be an active and popular broadcast journalist and writer. He is the author of several books.
